Howdy all y'all!
My name is Jake and I'm finally signing up here. I've read and gotten a lot of good info on R2R and I'm excited about joining. I am scary close to 40 years old and I've had aquariums on and off nearly all my life. All of them have been fresh water, but this time I'm going salt. I bought a 130 gallon glass tank about a year ago. I've drilled it myself for an overflow setup. I made my own overflows also. I built a sump from a 50 gallon used tank I picked up. The overflow is plumbed with PVC. And that's where I'm stopped. I just purchased a return pump and will be working on my return plumbing as time allows. My build is going SLOW because of budget and time but mostly the budget. Dang kiddos :) I'm hoping I can add to to the conversation intelligently and I hope you all are patient with my questions. I think I might know just enough to get myself in big trouble! Lol

Cheers!
Jake.

Welcome! Everybody is super helpful here. Since you're starting from the beginning, you should make a build thread too! I wish I would have when I first started.

Ok I will see what I can do. I never thought about taking pictures before now. I kinda figured that nobody would want to see my lowish budget most likely not correct build. I just watch and read then take a shot at making something. I watch a ton of Bulk Reef Supply videos. And follow a few reefers on YouTube. Next time I have everything opened up I'll take a few pictures and try to explain what I've done.

Na, I like the low budget approach to reefing. It's old school to me and it's what I've been use to doing all these years! Diy, well I love that too. Ghetto, I've got that down. If it works and grows coral, keeps fish happy and healthy, I'm fins up!

(My current build took me just over a year to complete and get wet!, Slow is okay)

Welcome to reef2reef! You'll like it here!:)
