I wouldn’t be surprised if it is cut to $399. Pricing it above the xr15 seems like a huge mistake to me.

I think we’re getting more for the money but not that much more and not so much in the areas we’ve been looking for.

Was anyone upset with the form factor of the old 360's? Honestly they increased power, improved lens, but cut down on form factor...

I get the market is about making money, but at $449 I wish they would have kept the same form factor and the new space they freed up would be available for integrated WiFi not something I have to buy.

$450 for the light, $100 for the controller, and probably $50 for the wifi dongle. At this point we're up to $600. Hard to argue not buying a Radion XR15 at that point, even with the diffusor that only comes in at $445.

You forgot the expensive proprietary usb cable!! =P

But yeah, there are no radical upgrades with this new cycle compared to the last generation. I would have been way more forgiving if the wifi/connectivity was included in the package for that price.

I’ll have to follow up again this weekend with them cause it was super hard to get a hold of the one guy who knew technical things about the light but it doesn’t seem like WiFi is a huge priority for them right now - he said they do have plans for new software and more WiFi connectivity in the future. Not exactly what a lot of us wanted to hear.

I feel the increased output is a great improvement to the last generation, that shouldn't be overlooked.

25% more power seems like a decent upgrade to me. Improved emitters seems like an even bigger win. I have no issue with the price point and since I dont mess with my lights after initial setup, the controller is of no use to me (especially the WiFi).

In regard to the cable, what is proprietary about it?

I guess another way to look into it, if the new light has a 25% increased output and the light now has a larger spread then you could theoretically cut down on the number of fixtures needed on large tanks. (72 inches and larger) Requiring 4 lights now instead of 5.

Hybrid users can just direct attach them to the brackets, since these share mounting holes with the AP700 arms. $450 on the other hand is XR15 pro with diffuser territory.

Already headed in that direction. Will have to see if the universal bracket wont get in the way of the trim pots and cable ports.
BTW are you guys at Macna?
