New maxspect 420

Got some upgraded lights. Maxspect r420r trying to find out what % to run whites and blues on thanks for the advice

Im waiting for mine(checking tracking every 6 min.:D)
I set my ratios by eye, or more blue for deeper water corals. I set the overall intensity with a lux meter. Esp in acclimation.
Im going to start mine at 18,000 lux and go up from there for approx 25 30 days till Im at 40,000.
currently I have MH+led @38,000lux.

I'm going to ramp up slowly compared to the lights I had prior these are a huge upgrade

yup, me too on bith. Acclimation is really key.
I use the $15 lux meter from amazon.
I saw a cat fry his bounce shroom w an SBreeflight.:eek:
I fries my corraline w a t5 ugrade, corals did fine. flaked the corraline off the to o the rocks and back wall. WITH a meter. geez.

Start off at about 30% ch1 and ch2 and then work up from there.

I started mine off with 35 blue and 25 white. I slowly moved it up week by week and I'm currently doing 75 blues and 65 whites. I'm not going to go any higher than what I have now. I run it for 10 hours a day from 11am to 9pm.

I can't seem to get these to cut off at night. I have the automatic setup so that I can choose the time for them to ramp up and down. and for some reason they stay on all night at 1% for both blue and white. Any suggestions?

There's 3 settings

1st one is where you set your own program.

2nd is a already programmed time by Maxspect

3rd is just a straight setting

It sounds like you are on the 2nd setting that is already programmed in. Push in the knob until you're own the A Setting. If you there already, push the knob instead of holding it. You should see time and program. Go to program and set the first set point to 0/0 .Go to the last set point and set it at 0/0.

If I have the first setting to something thats whats keeping the lights on all night? the lights are trying to slowly ramp up?

Set your setting like this, but choose your own times and %. Notice the TP1 and TP6 are set at 0% for both ch1 and ch2. It will turn the lights off completely from 10:00pm(22:00) until 08:00am.

TP1 08:00 Ch1 0% Ch2 0%
TP2 10:30 Ch1 20% Ch2 40%
TP3 12:00 Ch1 50% Ch2 70%
TP4 17:00 Ch1 50% Ch2 70%
TP5 19:30 Ch1 20% Ch2 40%
TP6 22:00 Ch1 0% Ch2 0%
