Hello Im Dave, and Im addicted to reefkeeping. I was told by many people to join reef2reef and so Im here. Ive been in this hobby now for 23+ years since my first fw tank, but have been reef keeping for 8+ years. I currently have (running) a 100gal oceanic reef tank and a 4 gal reef tank. I started the 100 gal reef back in February and the 4 gal back in November of 2011.
On the 100 gal (I think it really 115gal) Im running 2 150w viper MH (which are crap) with 20k hamilton and running 2 2 t5 ho fixtures, with all atintic bulbs. I have a 30gal sump with a reef octopus hurricone cat 1 skimmer and a mag 12 as a return pump with a ehiem 1260 as a back up as well as a gfo reactor with brs high capicity gfo and a 10 gal fuge built into the sump. As far as the inside of the tank Im running 5 koralias 2 evo 750s and 3 evo 1050s.
Live stock:
Fish: Yellow Tang (wasnt my idea, It was bought sick by a buddy of mine and dropped off at my front door)
2 zebra bar dart fish
2 false perculas
2 chromis
1 bangi cardnials
As far as the corals go I have a lot frags and some small colonies. When I started this tank I didnt want to buy colonies and instead only buy frags. I have way toooo many to list but my latest additions were Red Dragon acro, and Mayan Sun favia. I tend to collect rare and better looking corals and not just buy run of the mill corals for my personal tanks.
Im new to keeping clams and I have a 1.5" maxima clam and a 5.5" derasa clam.
