It closed when they took it out of tank so idk. They told me it was bubble
Welcome to the hobby! I think indeed this is a Carpet anemone and not a BTA. If it is a BTA it is not looking good at all 😂 Show us a pic when it opens up
The pic is of it opened up. Which leads me to my next question. Someone said maybe he was upside down. Would the bottom inflate and go in when the lights are shut off? Like the foot and bottom of it inflate like the top does? I don’t want to try to flip it and stress it more if it stands any change of surviving at all
Here is a pic of his bottom and one when I moved him and put him back the way he was seemed to open up some more

Welcome to R2R!

First pic was upside down, what was shown was to foot of the nem which it can inflate as it desired. The picture you sent with the part shriveled up is the tentacule/mouth which is deflated. Try putting it on the right side to help it….

In my book that’s a bubble tip nem not a carpet, foot on a carpet is shorter and even deflated it looks more like a stretch pizza dough than circular as you’ve shown.

Bubble tips are also living on rocks so try putting it on a rock do it can attach itself, it will reduce stress, maybe reduce flow for the time it attaches as well! :)

Thank you and to clarify the second pic is the correct way it should be? Sorry I am confused on the post.

What you see in font is the oral disk shrivel, on picture you have shown it’s the foot!

It’s perfectly normal to have questions! We’re here to help!

Thank you so when I lifted him up that is the pic and now I know he is sitting with the foot down . I tried to put him in his right side but he slipped over to the pic I showed you and opened up some . I have checked my water perimeters and they appear to be good and all within range but now my coral beauty is laying on it side. I did a partial water change and increased the air bubbler a little . I did notice there was food laying in bottom so I for it all out also. Need to go get ammonia tester also. My kit does not have one so I did a smaller water change just in case it was a little high till I can go get more salt and distilled water to do bigger water change.

Share a pic and your specific parameter so we can help, it may be normal that itms expelling waste or Zooxanthellae while adapting to new light/water

Hi. I am new here. Have had a small salt water rank 75 gallons for a few years. Just recently added an anemone. The store said it was a bubble but it looks like a carpet. Can someone help? It was put in tank 2 days ago and is just now opening

Hello, I hope your bubble anenome settles down in one place and starts opening up to the light. Also, I like your sunglasses. 😎
