Hello everyone I'm fairly new to the form and thought I would throw up a couple of shots of my tank. First off a little background I have been running a saltwater tank for a little over a year now The first tank was a 10 gallon nano I told myself a 10 gallon would satisy me. Well a few months later I found a deal on this tank I couldn't pass up so here we go.
40 breeder drilled
29 gallon sump
AsmG3
24 3w Cree LED DIY light
Stocking is still in the works I have 2 BTAs Looking to add one more also getting more into the softies and LPS as I enjoy a very energetic tank.
Fish are a pair of Black and white clowns and a royal grama looking to add more open to suggestons!

Can you give more info on the light? I have a 40 breeder also and have been debating on led's. What size heat sink, optics, ect... I like your aquascape, looks very open and roomy.

Thanks everyone! The lights are 24 cree leds, 12 cool white and 12 royal blues. I am running them on two meanwell pvw drivers using the rapid led controller. I have them on a 24" heat sink suspended in my canopy. I got the drilled and tapped for 36 leds so I can add said I'm only running the whites at about 15% and the blues at maybe 25% and I have plenty of light.

Is the heat sink the 4.25" width? Any optics? I put a 12 led 8 rb, 4 white 80 degree optics over the 40 breeder and was getting around 100 par at sand bed centered with constant driver.

Yes the 4.25" width. Not running any optics. Did you get bad spotting with that little amount of leds?

It is on a 16" heatsink. It wasn't spotty, but only covered about 18-24" of the bottom before par got down to below 60. Led's were about 16" off water. the 12 led is for my sump/frag tank and hung it just to see what differencethere was between it and the 4 bulb t5ho thats on it. The t5ho is getting pretty bad par, on sand goes from 40-70 par and top getting 50-90 par. The 40 is the girlfreinds tank and only has softy and lps, but she is wanting to start doing sps too. Thanks for the info, sorry about side tracking your thread.

No problem! Thanks for coming! So I'm contemplating switching this tank to a 34 gallon neo nano... One came up in the club for a pretty good price. I was already planning on doing a shallow rimless build this summer so this would be like an advance on a upcoming build. What do you all think keep the 40 or switch?
