Email geisemann direct to get your light. They don’t charge extra for any conversions.
Thank you for the replies. I sent an email to them so hopefully I can get somewhere. is there any advantage/disadvantage going the HQI? I've always used HQI up until this point

You won’t be disappointed if you get the spectra.

I think that's what I'm getting at this point. No Infinity, and it's the next best thing. I just liked that on the Infinity you could slide the MH bulbs in and out becuase I'm not sure a 60" fixture with bulb on the ends would light a 60" 150g evenly. Either way, no MH/T5 combo comes close to how pretty the Giessemann is.

That light doesn't need any supplements. Bolting strip lights on there turned that beautiful thing into a contraption. No offense, and I'm sure it illuminates magically with those Orpheks on there, but it really detracts from the elegant lines of the luminaire.

No offense taken. I think the look of the contraption is outweighed by how amazing the tank looks with the metal halide and leds.

What brackets are you using to attach the Orpheks? Which model did you go with and do you like it? I'm considering this same setup.
I’m using the ones that came
With the Orpheks. The only think I added was an aluminum strip and two L brackets on each side.

I am extremely disappointed with Giesemann and feel compelled to share my frustrating experience. I purchased the Giesemann Aurora V12 - 900mm focus cluster lighting system for my reef aquarium, expecting a high-quality product and reliable support. Unfortunately, what I received was far from satisfactory.

First, the lighting system began malfunctioning almost immediately. The lights would randomly turn off and on, despite proper installation and a stable power supply. Additionally, the Bluetooth connectivity with the Giesemann app was incredibly unstable, making it nearly impossible to control and adjust the settings.

I reached out to Giesemann customer support multiple times through their website, email, and social media, but received no meaningful assistance. The responses were either generic or completely unhelpful. It felt as though they were just going through the motions without actually addressing my concerns.

What’s worse is the lack of transparency and communication from their support team. I’ve been left in the dark (literally and figuratively) with no clear guidance on how to resolve these issues. For a company that markets itself as a leader in aquarium lighting, their customer service is absolutely abysmal.

I spent a significant amount of money on this lighting system and expected a certain level of support and professionalism. Unfortunately, Giesemann has failed on all fronts. I strongly advise anyone considering their products to think twice and explore other options. Save yourself the headache and frustration.

Overall, my experience with Giesemann has been nothing short of a nightmare. I am deeply dissatisfied and regret my purchase.

Dear frasers4th, Did you ever get this resolved by Giesemann? This very unsettling because I was planning on purchasing a Giesemann Aurora V12 pro, also the 900mm. As you mentioned, its not cheap lighting and if their after sales service is as bad as you describe, I'm somewhat concerned. Have you had any contact with Oliver, the head of sales at Giesemann. He was very helpful in providing me guidance. Your problem dates from 2020. How did your situation end up?

Hey Steve, my post is from this past June 2024 and essentially nothing has changed. I'd still guide you (or anyone else) away from these fixtures. The app is terrible, connectivity is an issue, you never know what profile you are running unless you've memorized the 'arcs' of the graph, the switches for clouds, lightning, moon are massively confusing (wether it is on / off?). I have had several emails with Lutz Heiwolt, in Germany and he is absolutely focused on not recognizing any of the issues I've encountered and ensuring that anything I do bring up, is my error, my fault and that any of my comments are unwarranted --- VERY UPSET and DISAPPOINTED.

Wow! Thank you for the feedback. I may discuss this with them. This is very unsettling because I have already spent a lot of time studying lighting and that fixture is by far the most appropriate for my situation with a very exposed tank which seperates my dining room and kitchen. I thought that it was very stylish lamp. I have no plan B. I may give them a call to discuss this. As I mentioned before, Oliver was very helpful and personable. In any case, thanks for your input. Best, steve d

Dear Frasers4th, In that context, do you have any alternative lamp recommendations? I need a modern, quiet and aesthetically attractive lamp WITHOUT A LOT OF WIRING FLOATING AROUND ALL OVER THE PLACE. I find all of the alternatives require one outlet per module. I'm not price sensitive and consider lighting to be an important investment. So whatever it costs, it costs. Got any suggestions for me? Thanks for your advice.

I still haven't received any feedback on my lighting question. Does anyone have a recommendation related to lighting for a Redsea Peninsula 350 G2? I'm looking for excellence. The Orphek lighting is loaded with wiring for each module. The tank is in the middle of a fairly large room, separating my kitchen and dining room and it needs to look very good. FYI, its going to hang from the ceiling instead of being mounted on the side of the aquarium. Thank you for any suggestions, recommendations...........
