I have a proclear 230 aquarium. It has 2 standpipes in the overflow at the same height, so no emergency overflow. They both have ball valves on them in the sump. I want to add a reefmat 1200 to the tank, so I'm thinking I have a few options. Which do you think would be best?

1) add ~1 inch to one of the standpipes so that it becomes an emergency overflow. Then use the primary overflow drain to feed into the reefmat
2) combine both overflow outputs and feed that into one outlet.
3) Keep it as is connect overflow line A to the reefmat and close the overflow line in B to about 50% so that most of the water is going through the reefmat.

Open to any other ideas as well.

Did you ever make any modifications for this?

Ended up shortening the end of the left downpipe under the tank by about a foot. Then connected reefmat to that.

Then that lets me dial in flow with both ball valve.

Picture is a bit hard to tell. But that left down pipe goes over the skimmer section and then the reefmat flex tube is connected behind the skimmer. This is then connected to the backside of the reefmat furthest from the door.

Then the unedited down pipe fits just barely on the side of the reefmat closest to the doors.

You can see the pipes look a bit wonky and I don’t have a packed sump.

I’ll probably end up doing more pvc work though since these 90 degrees take up more space than they should.

I did have to get rid of the glass panel where the overflow pipes go and break off some of the plastic ledge for the tanks rim so the reefmat could sit on the edge.

Not the prettiest, but least effort until I make a better plan and no risk of a single down pipe clogging
