Todd- I got a Belkin USB adapter like you said.. $40 at Officemax btw
My Laptop & Profilux communicate fine it just takes forever to do anything.
Ex. If I save, It will take at least 45 seconds.. Click on a tab- takes 60 secs to open & even longer if I make any changes.

I've increased the baud rate to the max on both my pc & profilux, still slow...

What's the deal?

Jeff, my email is [email protected] As discussed on Zeovit.com its probably something with your laptop. Noone else has reported this problem thus far and several of my clients have used the RS232 to USB convertors with great success.

Like you said in the post on ZEO the converter is almost as expensive as the USB upgrade card available from Profilux. I am using the USB card.

I hope things improve, there is nothing worse than a slow computer!!

T.

Michael said it was the actual USB-RS232 converter "You are not doing anything wrong, welcome to the world of RS232 - USB adapters".. After reading more about them I understand why.

Its not the puter..

They should make the USB adapter standard for US-bound controllers.. There is not alot of US support for RS232, not like Europe.

Thanks- I'm good for now. The USB card is only $90.. I'll probably pick one up eventually.

I only hook up to my Profilux every couple weeks to mess around with the Tunzes.. Everything is dialed in and working as it should...
