Radion and SPS

What do you SPS keepers set your Radion at as far as intesity? I currently have mine at 80%. I just got a bunch of new SPS frags so I'm thinking of lowering it even more for acclimation purposes. What do you guys/gals out there do?

While I do not use radions, I typically let my coral tell me what they need. First off determine the light they came from and go from there. IMO it is always easier to ramp the light up then it is to start seeing some bleaching and have to turn it down.

Im curious about this as well. Im really thinking i might get 2 radions to replace my MH's.
Wrasseluver- do you turn down then ramp back up every time you get a new frag?

the majority I have came from a 250W HQI - I'm very familiar with MH but this is my first fore in to LED so I don't know how to convert. Is a 250W MH HQI approximately equivalent to the Radion at 80%???

I went from 10bulbs T5 to 3 Radions. Started at 70% and 2 months later I'm at 90%. Usually I'll start new sps frags on my frag rack which is low in my tank

Wow, you guys are running them pretty high!

I'm running mine at 55% max at 20k. 2 fixtures over a 36" x 24" x 18" about 12" off the water.

normally I would start them low, but I have a smaller tank and don't have any space down low to start them off at. Since I have the Radion and it's easy to adjust intensity, I'm willing to drop it down to keep them healthy - I just don't know how to convert from 250W MH HQI to Radion intensity...

The frags I received today are all large and colorful, so I'm thinking 80% should be safe, but I would rather be cautious than sorry!

I have half a dozen SPS years under my belt and simply felt confident in going 100% It worked but your results may vary so go with what makes you feel comfortable. Here is a picture from my box

Yes I have all the programs save on my pc and ramp them up weekly until I get to 80%.

I have only been running them for about a month at that setting over a strictly SPS tank. Overall the coloration is pretty good but I am going to take it up to 65-70%.

I'd suggest starting around 55-60% for a week or two to see how things do before ramping them up, you'd be surprised at how much light these are actually putting off even though it may not visually appear so.

Well I just dropped my intensity to 75% and shortened the time it's at the intensity by an hour. I made my settings look more bell-curve like...

On a side note - is there a place where I can tell my radion to increase the intensity by X% every Y days til you hit a max of Z%? For example, tell it to increase the intensity by 5% every 7 days til you hit 95%? If not, they need to add that feature !!

Ok, so i don't want to hijack this thread but since there are a couple guys on here with experience with these lights.. Will I be ok with 2 Radions for my 120 gallon sps dominate? Dimensions are 4 X 2 X 2.. Hope you don't mind me asking dirtysumpguy :angel: but i have had these on my mind all day.. lol

Not that I know of but I just save the each program with the different percentage and load them each week.
