I currently do not have a tank and have been out of the hobby for about 5 years. I do have limited experience and have maintained an LPS dominate cube and a 75 FOWLR in the past.

In the near future I will be doing a mixed reef, bare bottom Red Sea Reefer 250 running on the Triton method. My attempt will be to automate as much as possible for the ultimate ULM tank.

I have a RSR 250 and I love it. I would definitely do some additional research on those fish choices. Some are too big for the 250 and not reef safe. Looking forward to seeing your build!

Thanks for the support. Hopefully this build starts sooner rather than later!

I am sure the Regal Angel and most of the tangs will be too big, but could probably get away with 1 of these out of the bunch if I can find the right size at my LFS.

Angels are typically "with caution" in my research but have heard it's all about solid feeding schedules and successes vary case by case.

The longnose butterfly could eat the clam and the pipefish would not do well with any of the larger semi-aggressive fish listed so it will probably be left off.

Anything else I am missing that I should be aware of based on your experiences?

@Crystal Reef Aquatics which Triton sump of yours do you recommend for a Red Sea Reefer 250 and 350?
We have our RSR series that is a direct replacement for both the 250 and 350 V2. Red sea is currently unrolling V3 models and we are working on having these designs finished by the end of the week. We can also do custom work to accommodate any specific desires. If you have time to chat, private message me your phone number and we can discuss this in further detail. Also, we can put together an attractive package price for everything with free shipping to your door! Thanks for your interest!

@Crystal Reef Aquatics do you recommend your 350 Red Sea Triton Replacement sump for a Red Sea Reefer 425 XL? Would your 450 model fit in the 425 XL's cabinet? Asking for a friend.

Agreed, awesome tank, but at 55 gal for the dt that’s a lot of fish. I currently have a yellow tang, coral beauty, maroon clown, 6 line wrasse and yellow watchman goby and I feel way overstocked
