Hey folks,
we have diagnosed the temperature controller bug. Its related to an UI changes that's saving the target equipment as "nothing" for cases where its not specified.
while i work on getting a fix out asap, users can try with an explicit lower temperature threshold (say 81 F) and a fake equipment (create one with any of the available GPIO) as chiller in the temperature controller settings and it should work for now. Note this bug only happens when you create or update a temperature controller entity with 5.0, any existing setup should work fine (unless you update those). which also means, pleas do not save/update temperature controller setting with 5.0 , till i cut 5.1 .

sorry for the inconvenience folks, I;ll be more diligent with the testing next time,

Excellent thank you Ranjib, that definitely lines up with what I was observing, looking forward to 5.1

Hi
I have a Robo Tank board. and I have a light configured with port 8 as a PWM 5v Analog.
it was working great. After the upgrade to v5. the response of the switch has a delay of exactly 28sec.
I set 0% or 100% but the light switch off or on after 28sec.

any ideas ?

thats very strange. can you see the log ? it should print when reef-pi is setting the value. this will help us understand if its reef-pi setting is with 28s delay, or its after that ,

I dont see anything in the LOG within the application.
I get the log from : sudo journalctl -fu reef-pi.service

see below the log.
1 - the notification for example
"Dec 10 16:48:29 raspberrypi reef-pi[2659]: 2021/12/10 16:48:29 lighting subsystem: Setting Light: RefugeLight Channel: Channel-1 Value: 100"
comes 28sec after I enter the value.

2- not sure why I see the other lines for all other channels ?!
like : " Dec 10 16:48:20 raspberrypi reef-pi[2659]: 2021/12/10 16:48:20 lighting subsystem: Setting Light: CH1 Channel: Channel-1 Value: 0"

yes thats the exact time reef-pi is setting the pwm values., the timestamp 16:57:26 is what we have to validate. Does it matches with your expectation?

not exactly understand your question. I expect that the lights will turn on/off immediately and not after half a minute.

Try it again exactly when you see pi change to a new minute if the day. Then check the logs to see what happened vs what you observed

I tried again. see the bellow. we are talking about /api/lights/8' which is the Channel 7.
the change of the value from 100 to 0 was at 2021/12/12 19:42:41
and the light switched off at 2021/12/12 19:43:11
you can see the log entry for both .
there is a delay in execution of approximately 30sec.

I found 2 minor bugs:
1. Journal: I created a new Journal, added some data points, all went well. Then I changed the name of the Journal, only before I saved it I did regret my name change and changed it back to the original name when I saved I got an error. Save was not possible, so I changed the name and I could save without any problems.
2. Dashboard: when I add an item on the dashboard and choose from the dropdown menu it is fine in English, Only when I change the language to Dutch the dropdown does not show the same options. In the dropdown, it repeats some of the wording instead of naming different options. I did not check for the other languages.

once you enable journal , make sure you reload reef-pi . Any changes under the capabilities/configuration section requires reef-pi to reload to take effect
sorry for the late response and thanks, seems to be working now although can't enter decimal values i.e. 1.025 for salinity is there a way to allow decimal values

I'm running 3 reef-pi's: one for my freshwater tank, controlling water temperature and day- and nightlight; one for my terrarium (tested hermanni), controlling temperature, humidity and light via MQTT resp. HomeAssistant and one for my incubator, controlling temperature und humidity as well.

Therefore again: Many thanks for reef-pi!

There is , but you are hitting a bug. I have encountered this, that sometime decimal values are being shown as invalid input , it goes away if I refresh or select all and replace the input . But still this is a bug , I’ll look into it.

That’s super awesome. Let us know if you have any feedback. We would love to know about your setup. If you have any build thread, do share .
Thank you
