You think it would survive without it. I am honestly petrified to loosen the clamps because that seem is almost split all the eay to the bottom. Got the clamps on within seconds of a complete failure.I'm sorry to see this. But can anyone really be surprised at this point?
Yeah, those clamps will do the job, but, I would put a strip of wood between the glass and clamp.

Oof… my condolences…
Just yesterday, I broke down a G2 Reefer XL 525 that had split the front right seam and dumped over 100 gallons of saltwater on the owner’s floor at 3am one morning…

This is an extreme case, but I’d hate to see you suffer the same fate! that said, more info might help us point you towards a game plan which keeps your floors dry!
— is this “few weeks” the lead time before a new tank arrives?
— if so, is the new tank going in the same location as this Reefer?

WOW! So sorry to see this! The wood with the clamps is definitely way better. Good luck with the tank transfer.
never owned a redsea tank, but if they are not replacing these tanks outright, they may have multiple lawsuits or possible class action coming their wayAs harsh as this sounds, at this point we should assume all Red Sea tanks in use will start leaking 3-6 years after first use. I had two (original and replacement) that failed in 3 years.
So in my opinion it is good practice for RS tank owners to have a backup plan for when, not if, it starts leaking.
Replacing? no… if you are outside of warranty best they can do is 10% off on another RS tank.never owned a redsea tank, but if they are not replacing these tanks outright, they may have multiple lawsuits or possible class action coming their way
I’ve actually seen multiple examples failing at sub-one year… it’s ridiculous…As harsh as this sounds, at this point we should assume all Red Sea tanks in use will start leaking 3-6 years after first use. I had two (original and replacement) that failed in 3 years.

Okay, this changes things significantly!Yes, a few weeks for a new tank and going in the same spot.
