But in all seriousness, I'll be able to slide both fixtures out from over the tank to the left and right to change bulbs, clean reflectors, maintenance etc without having to fight with electricity over the tank. They're actually aluminum pocket door tracks complete with roller trucks. Obviously I'll have to have slack for the controller cords and power, but I have that covered.

Things are slowly coming together for you bit by bit, I know the feeling lol I'm not much of an Aquascape wizard but I think what you have now looks pretty awesome. Nice variation in levels, some overhangs, pass-throughs, I'm digging it for sure!
I sincerely appreciate the compliment. I think you definitely have your ducks in a row so that means something to me. Yeah it's a methodical process and I've decided based on experience go more fast means get more regrets.
I'm still gonna screw the pooch here and there I get that. I'm not perfect but I'm just trying to do the best I can to look ahead and do it right (by right meaning to what I like and having results). There are so many ways in this hobby to do it right. That's why I love watching all you cats in your build threads too! So many good ones out there, so little time.

I measured all my parameters in the tank today and made the decision to dump the clowns in. Stay tuned on that haha. I'll post a video once I can prove they survived that decision.

Hey everyone! More progress this morning, I finally have lights over my tank! There are more details to finish yet such as stops on the ends of the track and tidy up extra cable length on mounting wires etc but it's basically in place. I will be adding kessil 360's to these lights eventually as well. Ultimately there will be a floating hood covering these up. Let me know what you think. Short video at the end here showing how these work.

Most welcome! Honestly nothing is more gratifying than seeing your tank finally with water, and lit up!
You and me both brother! These long journeys really do turn out to be long lol. I'm the beginning even though you plan you really just don't have a feel for how stretched out this stuff gets to be.

I'm at the 11th month mark on mine, and it's still not wet. Tomorrow I will pick up another Brute can as one of them is tied up holding live rock from an old system I sold off, and all my return plumbing. I need to change the rodi filters and flush, and start making water. Maybe by mid week I'll get sand and water in mine. It's funny how long it can get!

An exciting milestone coming up for me this week! Hooking up a never ending water supply to my ATO and storage tank haha, let's get crazy! Tested out my Spectrapure liquid level controller tonight. A+ : Works as advertised!!! D- : installation instructions and their engineers are technologically smart but practical application idiots. Waiting on a couple fittings and valves for my RODI plumbing cuz I can't do any water project without ordering everything I need the first time.
However once I have that in place this week I'll show you a system that automatically fills up an ATO without compromising TDS creep with a minimum of three layers of protection along with auto fill to the storage system as well in addition to a simple way to select between top off via kalk or pure RO water with the flip of a valve without sending kalk through a single pump.
