Getting ready to take a trip Down to Hydra Aquatics today. They are a Bashsea retailer. That way I can physically go see the products that Bashea has to offer. I intend to use all his products exclusively for my filtration system. By the looks of the the equipment on Bashsea's site, they build incredible and pretty to look at equipment.

So I just returned from Hydra Aquatics. What a great place! If anyone of you live in south Florida in or around the greater Fort Lauderdale area, I highly recommend taking a trip. Beautiful and healthy selection of livestock!

Are you going to be putting vents in that back? Maby I missed something or you didn’t mention it. Also are you going to be using some kind of paint to seal it up?
BTW awesome looking build

Yes the cabinet will be vented. If you look to the left side where the stand does not come all the way over. That area is going to be a chase from floor to ceiling for plumbing, power, etc. This is not going to be just a stand. This is going to be a full on furniture looking wall unit almost 9 ft. tall. There will be an enclosed lighting canopy on the top. In the actual ceiling where the tank sits under will be an exhaust fan that is thermostatically controlled. In the ceiling adjacent to the wall unit will be a grill in the ceiling that looks like a regular a/c vent but, it is actually just a piece of duct work that jumps from inside the canopy to outside. That way when the exhaust fan kicks on it will draw fresh air inside as well. It will pull out excess heat and humidity. The top portion of the canopy will have slots routed out of it that will be backed with a stainless steel mesh. The canopy also will have intake fans and exhaust fans. Those will autoautomatic come on with the lighting to increase the cooling efficiency. As for the paint you ask about or sealing of the stand. The entire inside of the cabinetry (not just the stand portion) will be primed, sanded, caulked, all seams, coated with a 2 part epoxy paint with the chips that you see on really cool home garage floors in red, black, white, and gray. Then it will be all coated in a high gloss epoxy clear coating. Easy for clean up, protected from spills, salt, etc. And it will match all the Ferrari Red Bashsea filtration equipment and all red PVC plumbing with the dark gray schedule 80 fittings, valves, etc.

Looks like well thought out build
Following for sure
I'm trying to dot all my i's and cross my it's with this one. We moved into this house a few years ago. It was kind of a fixer upper. Been remodeling room by room. When I say remodeling, I mean a full gut out! So as I've made my way from bedrooms out to the living area and into the kitchen we decided it was a perfect time to incorporate a new tank. I'm taking my time with this one because we plan on being in this house for a long while and we want this to last for as long as we are here. It has to be done right. Besides, our budget doesn't allow for me to do it twice. Lol
