In the past couple days I lost my rainbow Mille to RTN. I keep fragging and it keep dieing. I tried coral rx and nothing. I had to pull it out today. Really nice coral ... Now tonight my Strawberry Shortcake and Pink Lemonade are starting to RTN. I pulled them and also dipped in coral rx. I cut the Pink Lemonade back just above the dead tissue. I dont have a frag/quarantine tank. What can I do besides massive water changes?

Thanks everyone.

I know its hard to control RTN and sometimes it spreads.

Check your ALK and PH over 24 hr period.

and also

Check Nitrates

Patrick,

+1 to the above poster.

Check those water params. Make sure there getting enough flow but not to to much. Be prepared for water changes. Check corals for creatures........ AEFW...Red Bugs......

GL brother. Let me know if you need any help.

In all my years of keeping sps any time I had rtn or stn it was alk related...you had a spike or dip somewhere along the line... Keep it stable and it should slowly start to stop... I know it's painfull but time will heal...

stn/rtn can be caused by microbial bacteria that spreads to other corals via flow. If it was stning more light and flow could possibly help. If the coral is rtning you can try dipping it in luogol's iodine. massive water changes may stress out the coral.
