I know this has probably been asked before, but I wanted to use Vitality to supplement and soak food. However, I noticed it contains copper sulfate. I’ve seen many hobbyists use it without issues, but I also came across a few reviews claiming it harmed or even killed their shrimp. Could anyone explain the role of copper sulfate in this product, and whether it’s safe to use in a reef tank?

Can’t explain the presence of copper sulfate but in general you don’t need to soak food in anything.

As the label says, it's a comprehensive supplement, including trace elements. That would include copper.....seawater has coper in it, but obviously not at therapeutic levels. :)

That said, overdosing trace elements is probably easy since you can't easily test to verify what you need to add and what might already be high. So some folks could conceivable nuke some inverts (or worse) if they misused this.

But then, you also have to keep in mind when reading reviews that some folks just aren't very good at things and will screw it up somehow, then blame the product with a low review. You see it on Amazon reviews all the time. So sometimes you can just straight up ignore bad reviews.
