Really nice pics! I think spectrum from the white bulbs helps color up certain colors much better than any blue bulbs. I think a lot of people running mostly blue bulbs are missing out on certain colors for certain pieces. Sure the blue bulbs will grow coral but the best coloration I have seen from people running 100% on the “white” bulbs as well.

I'm def seeing more color development with more whites. I'm using a modded AB+ program on these reefbreeders, and more whites help so much more, and I think that's the down fall with alot of LED users: we can run TOO much blue. Honestly, I'm starting to enjoy more of daylight/fullspectrum lighting. Whatever is showing up in full spectrum just shows up much better under blues. Ideally, I want more whites.

I rarely get to see my tank in full spectrum for any appreciable amount of time, but today I got to enjoy it. Took some full spectrum shots to docu some growth and progress. This is nearing 7 months now since my reboot, the resolution of the image hosting thing is bad.

New to the family:
My (probably) last frag pack, which came from @therman.
RMF Lucky charms (stunner!), PPT, JF HW, Therman’s purple tipped yellow shag, BC bellicose, PTYS, RR Wolverine, BC cemetery party (gnarly colors already)

I’m keeping a close eye on this HW because my first example isn’t giving me what I want. This one looks great right out the gate. That RMF Lucky charms below it is amazing! So I’m hoping these lights do these two pieces justice. If not, I cry.

Honestly, @Reef Breeders , imported and spec'ed out these perfectly. They've amazed me for the money. I was initially debating between these, radion, orpheks, but I really didn't want 6+ units of the latter. I don't think I made a wrong choice. What helps is running MORE whites. Ever since I've upped my whites, things are just getting better and better. And it's not even ugly to look at during the day!

You have amazing growth and color. I have been looking at the Photon V2+ for my 180 (72 x 24 x24), but not sure which size and how many to get. Do you think that having full coverage of the tank is key to getting your results along with higher whites?

Thanks!
So I went with four 48s, I could have went with the 50s, but then I would have lit my overflow for no reason. In your case, I’d strongly consider running four of the 32s with the linking rails, personally.

I initially ran only two 48s. I asked Logan for some advice even though I thought the coverage was enough, and I actually still feel I could have gotten BY with just 2. Logan didn’t try to sell me two other sets. He actually told me to get some of the bars to attach on for extra coverage. I decided I’d rather run two more, even though the backside has only two huge colonies of acros.

I think in my case the full coverage helps tremendously-there’s no shadowing-and I’ve found increasing whites has resulted in better growth and coloration. I know a Lot of people shy away from running high whites, but I’m finding I want to increase them more until they’re near 90% just like my blues (probably can’t, unless they’re hung higher). There are a few members here who use these and have them maybe 18-20” up and run all channels at 100% and their results are phenomenal.

This is the best bang for the buck light, hands down and probably the best money spent for my hobby. You can’t go wrong with these and Logan’s after sales support is second to none. If you do go with these, hang them high and run full blast- I would.

Been almost a month. Time to track progress again. These pics have been edited to what my eyes see without special specs, and have actually been desaturated to represent colors as closely as to how I see them under this spectrum.

Also with my lighting schedule and the help of a buddy’s Apogee, I was able to map out my par and it’s eye opening. I’m getting about 900 just below the water surface, about 600+ on the very top of my highest rocks, 450+ mid tank and 250-300 at the bed; I have a RR Aussie gold in the bottom back left of the tank and it’s getting about 180-200 par and growing really well still.

Thanks bud, yeah there are 3 acanthurus us in there: shoal, PBT, and Achilles. Sohal is the wuss of the three, but I don’t have issues with the tangs. There’s 8 total.
