Alright alright alright. Dosing all set up with corals essentials+ . I blindly dosed magnesium for now, hope that wasn’t stupid but my friends and experts I trust with my reef and most prized possessions walked me through the process (shout out unorthodox jason).

Looking forward to seeing how the coral responds.

Fallow period is almost done!!!!!!

Finally I can add some fish. I’ve got a handful of damsels, filefish, and rabbit fish in QT and a friends place, they will be coming home next weekend.

I’m way overdue for a water change. Need to get my butt in gear.

Losing one of my sps and one of my tongamussa. I suspect flow is the main culprit. Going to add another powerhead tonight.

The fish are home!!! 93 days of fallow puts my mind at ease. Time to get some beautiful fish for this tank and step it up a notch.

Added an adult desjardini. Got it from a local shut down. He said it was around 6”. When it got to my house I was blown away. Closer to 9” i think. Needless to say, he won’t be with me long but my god is it ever gorgeous!

Algae algae algae.

Since adding fish, nutrients have skyrocketed. Definitely time to adjust maintenance and get this under control.

I’ve also added a peppermint and filefish to take care of a large aptasia problem. Within 24 hours I would say half of the aptasia are already gone! They work fast.

Getting mature fish from other hobbyists is just so awesome. That guy is a beaut.

It’s the absolute best way to get fish. You know they’re healthy and eating and aquarium conditioned. I just bought a purple tang from another hobbyist as well.

If you ever come down to Niagara I’ll throw ya a couple frags to help you fill that big boy up.

Last week was the Niagara coral expo and it was really great, spent a little too much lol

I really wanted to go to the show but the restaurant is hard to get away from for a weekend!

How long does the ATO last for you? My current tank is plumbed to RODI via Apex control and I’m looking to buy the R90 version of this tank. I need to regain some living room space to accommodate a new couch that fits the whole family.

I’m a little concerned about how often I’d need to manually refill the ATO chamber as the spot I am looking to place the new tank will not have access to the RODI lines I was using for the previous setup.

Thanks in advance!

It last about 5-6 days for me right now. Definitely more than adequate for my needs .

20% water change today. Tank needs love, big update tomorrow.

Well… tank isn’t doing so hot. Lost most sps and LPS are struggling. The reason? I added too many big fish at once. Diatoms took hold and have been smothering coral.

The fix. Two day blackouts as needed to starve the diatoms, as well, dosing some nitrate as they’re at 0.

After the first blackout the tank is looking much better. Nitrate dosing will start this week.

Sorry to hear about your fish. I just purchased my R120. I'm in the middle of setting it up. I'm coming from a 65 gallon Deep Sea reef tank. How do your like your tank so far?

Thanks.

I LOVE the tank itself. All the bells and whistles make it so easy to get maintenance done and organize the tank.

I just need to step my game up and make it look nice inside!
