How'd you mount that t5 ? Also what fixture is it. Loving the led t5 combo

Thanks! It's a sunblaster nanotech from Amazon. It comes with a hanging brackets, I used a thick gauge wire to wrap around the radions brackets.

Looking for input on flow for a Reefer 170...currently have the double WAV setup and they feel too direct. Considering a GYRE, just unsure. Would love something Apex compatible.

Big update! Finished the sump area with a manifold, got the tank cycled + 90% water change before adding a 6 line wrasse yesterday. Things are coming along nicely and I'm super happy with the RSR 250. I also added a Randall's goby (aka orange stripe prawn goby) to my nano that will eventually move to the 250.

Lots of people pulling them off much larger tanks for the same reason. I have a Gyre XF-130 on one end and an MP 10 on the other. Works well. The MP 10 magnet is just fine unless its cranked up over 80% on pulse mode which I never do. Gyre creates a nice wave and the MP10 gives me some randomness.

Edit: I have a 250

Where can I grow cheato in a reefer 250 sump? I have a skimmer so unless I make an acrylic baffle I'm not sure the best way to do it and I don't want to convert the ATO

I used the reef dreams baffle kit. I damaged my stock sump and replaced it with a Trigger systems. I no longer have a use for the baffle kit, send me a pm if you're interested in buying it :)

I'm setting up a 170 and trying two small hydors from Aqami. I have an MP10 on another tank and have mixed reactions. I saw the hydors at NY RAP and it was a bit of an impulse buy. No APEX control, but for $100 you get a pump you can control thru your phone. The app was slick, it's smaller than an MP10, DC power with variable output, does 1000GPH. The mount isn't as stable as MP10, but unlike MP10 it's directional. I then put a RFG nozzle on the return. Don't know how it will work and the RFG is a little obnoxious (large) on a 170

I'm ok letting the powerheads run when I feed, as long as I turn off the return with my controller, I'm good.

The Red Sea barbed fitting can use 3/4" tubing, just have to heat up the tubing under hot water before pushing it on. I have mine connected with 3/4" braided PVC tubing.

The 3/4" silicon tubing I got from BRS is too big for the barb on my Reefer 170. It fits and I could clamp it down, but I didn't feel comfortable that it wouldn't leak, there was quite a bit of space around the barb.

Haven't tried it myself but there was someone in this thread that was going to try it in the drain compartment. I think his plan was to put something like egg crate before the socks to keep it in place and then light it from the side or top.

I've decided to try it in a reactor.

Welp, made the transfer yesterday, everyone made it and seems very happy in the new tank. I drip acclimated the smaller tank using the larger tank for 5 hours while refilling the larger tank as water level dropped. It worked really well.

I really wish I could bring that sand bed over. It's full of beneficial critters. Any ideas? Could I move a cup every couple days or something?

Just got done with this, been thinking about trying it for a while.
I used an old acrylic clipboard, egg crate, and the clear plastic corner protecters (usually found on corners to protect paint i n commercial buildings) .
It's not pretty but it's the first draft.
Placed it on the second sock chamber, lit through the side.
Just added it so we will see how it works out.

Absolute Hail Mary here -- but is anybody within reasonable driving distance from Connecticut considering buying a Reefer 525XL in White?

A brand new tank is arriving on my doorstep this week that I can't actually set up. My landlord just nixed the tank, despite already giving permission by phone & email.

I'll call @Bulk Reef Supply tomorrow to see if I can cancel the delivery and return the tank instead, but I'm guessing that's not going to be possible --> exploring other options like selling this BRAND NEW, NEVER EVEN TOUCHED tank :)

Anyone interested?

Sorry to hear the news. Not sure if you can get a hold of them and return to sender? Most likely a fee involved.

In other words are tanks are probably on the same truck, waiting for mine to come this week.

Does anyone know the internal dimensions of the reefer 250 cabinet? I'm planing on starting one but I would like to go with a different sump. I was looking at the trigger cube sump 20 which is 20x20x15 but I'm not sure if it would fit.
