Hey guys im switching from a nuvo 20 to a reefer nano. In my nuvo ive been running the 1k gyre. I was thinking to selling it and going with 2 aqamai kps pumps, one on each back side. That way i can have my side glass clear. Would i be better off with 1 mp10 instead? My budget is really only 200$ and thats with me hoping to get a few bucks for my gyre... i figure the 2 pumps for the price of 1 is a pretty slick deal for a nano!

I would stick with the gyre just sideways on the back wall
Its all really about the rock work i personally have mine on the top right and am very happy

Trying to decide how much rock to order for my 350. It’s been so long since I’ve setup from scratch I can’t remember how much rock I really had previously. I just kept adding/removing rock through the years. Was thinking of starting with 50 pounds of reef saver then maybe grab some seeded pieces from world wide corals (I’m local to them!) If I end up needing more

I think i went with 1.5 pounds per gallon and it was pukani that’s considered light
reef saver is pretty heavy and dense you would probably need more if you are ordering from brs order the 50 and see how it works for you if you need more then order more
Its all about the type of rockscape you are doing i did two shelves and a cave

Has anyone attempted to replace the elbow section of the return nozzle assembly? It seems like a point of flow construction and I wanted to make everything a more consistent internal diameter throughout.

Update on the xxl625...

Everything has been growing out! SPS are all encrusting and getting great polyop exstention awesome and all the fish are happy and healthy.

Recent upgrades.. I redid the control just need to add the matting to the top lid and the front molding. I now have everything fully voice controlled by Alexa eco dot which allows me to be able to turn everything on and off in the system via Alexa making water changes, feedings and daily operations much easier!

I also drilled a hole through the bulkhead and added a bulkhead fitting through the hole to protect the wood so I could feed my dosing lines through instead if around the back.

Let me know what you think!

Still waiting on my replacement cam locks from Red Sea. They insist they were sent out last Wednesday. Nothing still today. Want to get this tank going, right now it’s a partially assembled heap in my dining room :(

I use adhesive pads and Command strips where I can (cable control, skimmer controller mounting etc) and screws where I can’t (Apex controller, DOS, EB6 etc). So far I have just used the screws Neptune supplies. I am keeping an eye on them and if I see rust I will swap them out for stainless steel replacements.

Well I am sick of replacing filter floss - anyone had any luck with any of the rollermat units on a 425xl (v2 sump)?

Hi everyone,

I'm using a RSR350 (not the V3 version) and looking to get a clarisea filter.

I'm not very familiar with all the piping stuff hence, I got 2 questions which hopefully someone can answer and help me out.

1) which version of clarisea would be better for my tank?
2) can the drain pipe of the tank fit nicely into the inlet of the clarisea filter or do I need to mod the drain pipe of the tank

I will be cutting out the filter socks area to fit the clarisea

Thanks.

Has anyone used the return area, the one before the filter socks on a 525XL V1 sump, as a refugium area? I'm thinking of doing a refugium but I don't want to buy another sump if I can avoid it.

I got my Reefer 350 v3 a little over a week ago from @SaltwaterAq (SUPER fast shipping btw, highly recommend!), finally got everything set up to my liking

Currently running:
Reefer350 v3 - white
Current USA eFlux 6010 DC Return Pump
MP10QD
Maxspect GyreXF130
3x AI Prime HD - white (Saxby setting)
Bubble Magus Curve 5
2x Hager Eheim 150w Heater

Livestock is only a Clown, Blue/Green Chromis and a very curious Midas Blenny so far, looking for suggestions on what other fish to add.

Thanks!
