Hi everyone,
I just ordered a reefer 250 and am somewhat new to reef aquariums. I’ve been reading for some time about what else to buy and I’ve narrowed it down to a Vectra M1, either a Skimz SC145i or a Reef octopus Classic 150sss, I’ve been eying two Kessil a360we lights for sale with controller for sale on Facebook that I’m waiting for a reply about. Still up in the air about what heater to buy, haven’t found one with good reviews. What should I be changing or adding? (For the major stuff)

I got a vectra s1. I got the reef octopus 150sss. I use a cobalt 150W heater with another 75w from my old tank to heat it. A 300w would be appropriate though probably. I bought the deluxe package so I got the hydra 26hd and I use the Nero 5 powerheads!

I used outdoor double stick tape for light weight stuff (LED light and switch), and screws for anything with decent weight, (power strips / mounts for controllers).

Do you just drill to your cabinet?

I'm giving some thought to getting out of coral and reefs for a bit and trying something else. Would anyone know if it would be possible to keep jelly fish (only) in my Reefer 450?

This is Radion AB+ for the hydra 26. Brs has a thread and video but don’t know how to post links
UV - 117.98% (ie. max)
Violet - 101.27%
Royal - 82.34%
Blue - 64.64%
Green - 5.54%
Deep Red - 5.16%
Cool White - 19.03%

I can’t help for the times as I’m new to the lights.

I also recently ordered the Reefer 250 but opted for the "Deluxe" model which ships with 2 AI Hydra 26 LED's. My LFS recommended the Vector S1 and said that the M1 was overkill. I originally was going to order the Reef Octopus Classic 110INT skimmer but switched on Tuesday to the new Red Sea RSK-300 skimmer which RS started shipping last week and the distributor that my LFS works with had just received their shipment. Also I am starting with 1 Nero 5 wavemaker and may add a second one later on. I am hoping for this 250 to be delivered next week but the cabinet was damaged by a forklift when it was shipped and my LFS is waiting for a replacement.

I live in south Florida where is is pretty warm year round and I usually have the AC set between 72-74 degrees, how powerful a heater do you think I will need?

Your probably going to need a chiller. Really depends on what you have running on your tank, and the temp of your water. I live in South Florida as well, run my air from 70-76, have no heater, running my chiller to keep my water at 77-78. Have 4 pumps in my sump, and run radions with T-5. Sure it would get over 82 without one, but have not tested it. Hope that helps.
