Got my sump swapped out! Ran into one issue, the input adapter on my cor20 had to be removed, also the bottom plate had to be removed. The other issue, non sump related is that my emergency drain leaked... I had to take it apart 5 times before it sealed. The RedSea plumbing always makes me nervous to touch, it just so fragile!

I ended up taking 8-9 gallons out of the reefer V1 Sump, I put that water back in and added 8-9 gallons I made this morning! So I do indeed have additional water volume! My Nyos 120 skimmer fit perfectly.

This is truly a plug and play sump system! I had no issues with the plumbing and sump! Now keep in mind this is a triton style sump and does not use filter socks. However, there is a tray before the return pump that you could run mechanical filtration if you desire!

Running water and vinegar... and a heater in my Reefer sump. It is almost freezing out! I’m going to clean it up and see if anyone local had a use for it!

Fellow reefers, I'd like your opinion on this. I posted a while back about my stand being off. One of the end panels on my 650 peninsula has bowed out a bit. I think it's stabilized but this has caused the tank to be slightly off-level. I checked my floor and it's still spot on so this is definitely due to the stand. You can see from the pictures that there is a much wider gap between the door and the end panel. The panel also has a bit of play as I can push in and see it flex. I figure I have a few options.

Tank level using my 4ft level. It was perfect when I set it up.

It's hard to get a full shot while holding the level but you can see the middle pat of the panel has a larger gap by far than the top and bottom. Also, just using the level as a straight edge you can see that the panel is not completely flat.

Leave it as is and hope the off level is tolerable.
Adjust level with the leveling feet (can this be done with water in it?) I think I'd probably lower the other end rather than raise the wonky side.
Install an internal brace between the center support and the end panel in the sump to keep it from bowing further.
Fight with red sea to get a new stand and deal with the huge cost/effort of moving the tank and swapping stands.
Screw it and build a stand using 80/20.

This is very frustrating. Defects happen but even if the stand is replaced I'll have to hire people to assist. Best case I'm out several hundred bucks and a couple days of my life. When I talked to Red Sea a few months back they told me to take it down and build the stand but that won't resolve the fact that the panel is not straight. I have a 100 gallon Rubbermaid trough I can use to temporarily hold water while I deal with any leveling or bracing. I'd really want to avoid a complete drain and ruining my aquascape as the tank is just starting to hit it's stride.

You need re re-level after filling the aquarium and after it settles

If the panel is not straight i would recommend emptying and replacing it
You paid for it you might as well have it the way it should be
If you change the stand structurally you will not be covered under warranty

anyone running Kessils on their reefer?

After using Radions G4 on my 425XL I think I am going to venture over and try the new a360x. I enjoyed seeing it in person and the release of the wifi dongle makes it even more tempting.

I am just concerned of the bleeding that might happen on the tank.. the a360x now has a spread of 130 and says 36".. so wondering if it will be too much...

Feedback aways appreciated.

You can adjust them lower so they don’t bleed

I have the g4 and very happy
Why are you thinking of switching

I have the XR30s and feel that those lights on a little reefer 170 will be overkill

I go back and forth. I kinda want to try something new and then another part of me just wants to throw on a xr15 and call it a day. Hard choice

Depending on rockwork if its wall to wall i would recommend xr30 or xr15 because of shadowing
But if you have more of a open concept then i think you can get away with 1 xr15 (maybe a little brighter with a diffuser)

Here is my final scape. I feel the more research I do the more I go back to the radions w/ a diffuser. Trying to unload my xr30 and surprised I am not really getting bites. Maybe I will just donate and write off on my taxes :)

Well the decision has been made. I went ahead and ordered the new Kessil A360x. I am excited to try something different.
