I drilled the inner side of mine between the sump and equipment. Was pretty painless.

Has anyone drilled their Reefer stand with a hole saw into the back or side of your stand for cord management? How did it work?

I drilled through the divider to run the discharge tube from the skimmer to the skimmate locker. Make sure to remember to start the drill on both sides so you get a clean hole.

How’s that Splendid Dotty? I hear they become a territorial menace after a while. They’re a beautiful fish and I’d love to add one.

Do any of you guys know the Dimensions of the back sump on the max-e 170. It states the total dimensions of the tank is 24 l, 22 w, and 22.6 high I’m trying to figure out how much area I got to work with in the display

Question for those who have customized their plumbing. I am going to convert my 750XXL as well soon and I learned from this thread to get the Red Sea return assembly and a 3/4" MPT to slip adapter. But why does everyone seem to go to 1"? Are the return and drain lines not 3/4"? What am I missing here? I feel like its going to be so obvious.. :)

Only because it looks better
They are 3/4” and if you used 3/4” you would be fine

On the 750 The 2 lines from tank to sump are 1” (in mm 25). The return from the pump to tank is 3/4” (in mm 19). Most pumps for that size tank are 1” so no reason to restrict so just make it 1” to return to the 3/4” before it goes back into the tank. Remember the stock pipe is mm. Hope that helps!

I ordered up the stealth RSR250 sump for my reefer 170.. I will have to change the drain and emergency pipes a little, but looking forward to a larger sump. I went ahead and expanded the skimmer section to accommodate a larger skimmer footprint

Great thread. Took me days to read!

I have three quick questions:
Do right angles in hard plumbing affect flow?
Should the fuge/cheato reactor be the first in line from the overflow water?
How do you manage multiple reactors with different flow requirements?
