I have read about these little suckers a few times over the years and thought they were probably too obscure to be a threat.
Anyway, after moving my in wall tank on to a stand, I found this (was previously below a piece of wall so never saw it).
As you can see, there is a tiny leak. Not even enough to wet the tank, it just gets a bit of salt creep.
Anyway, I think the worm is dead (this tank crashed) and so I just made a silicone sandwich with a piece of a plastic shim that I cut, this tank wont be much of a display any time soon so not too concerned about aesthetics. Theres still a leak and I'll add more silicone to it, but I reckon it'd be under 1 ml per day.
Just thought it'd be interesting. I'd suggest keeping an eye on your joins, though if you did find a worm I'm not sure how'd you'd be able to rectify the problem.
