Hello,
I know all tanks are different when it comes to this subject, but I'm just looking for opinions based on your experiences. As mentioned my tank is 120 gallons and six feet in length. There is a sump, protein skimmer, and refugium below. My current inhabitants are:

2 clowns
2 cardinals
1 foxface
1 sleeper head goby
1 long nose hawk
1 midas blenny
1 lawnmower blenny
1 fire fish goby

1 cleaner shrimp
1 peppermint shrimp
1 conch
~20 hermits

Everything I have listed has been healthy and thriving so I don't want to mess anything up, but my end goal would be to add:

1 tomini tang
1 royal gramma
1 fairy wrasse

1 brittle star
1 tuxedo urchin

Would adding these overwhelm the system?
Could I add more than I have listed?
Am I already over capacity?
What are your thoughts on CUC? More or less?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Nope - should be fine. You can always add more fish (13 fish isn't what I'd consider heavily stocked; I have 50 in my 160-gallon, but also keep in-mind that I have a lot of CUC, filtration and add-ons). Definitely more CUC. I like conches, nassarius and cerith snails for the sand bed, spiny astrea snails and ring cowries for the rocks and turbo and trochus snails for the glass.

No youre good! I have a 125 with two triggers, 3 tangs, 5 lyertail anthias, a saddleback butterfly, 2 clowns, foxface, and a porcupine puffer and a fee misc small nano fish! They all get along and im very on top of water changes and my water chemistry. Yeah I have a heavier bioload with the puffer and triggers but they all get along fine aside from Lady, my female clown who just likes to be a butt for no reason.

Also I think you could add more just watch them and go slow and see how they all do together. I had to re home a tang cause she caused chaos in my tank. Very peaceful now! Just make sure they have lots of rocks and open swim space!

If you have enough hiding spots, filtration and are careful about fish selection you can have a lot happily. I have no aggression because I keep fish of similiar temperment.
Heres what I have in my 110: My all peaceful fish reef
  • Frostbite & domino clownfish, Amphiprion ocellaris
  • Benggai cardinalfish, Pterapogon kauderni
  • Red firefish, Nemateleotris magnifica
  • Common foxface, Siganus vulpinus
  • Royal gramma, Gramma loreto
  • Midas blenny, Ecsenius midas
  • 2 Mandarins, Synchiropus splendidus
  • (one eyed) Orange spot goby, Amblyeleotris guttata
  • Red Sea leopard wrasse, Macropharyngodon marisrubri
  • Radiant wrasse, Halichoeres iridis
  • Pink streaked wrasse, Pseudocheilinops ataenia
  • Lunate fairy wrasse, Cirrhilabrus lunatus
  • Exquisite fairy wrasse, Cirrhilabrus exquisitus
  • Timor wrasse, Halichoeres timorensis
  • Yellowtail wrasse, Anampses meleagrides
  • Red saddled anthias, Pyronotanthias flavoguttatus
  • Gold nugget Wrasse, Xenojulis margaritaceus
  • Dusky margined wrasse, Halichoeres marginatus
  • Blue flasher wrasse, Paracheilinus cyaneus
And in my 125: The aggressive FOWLR
  • Banded snake eel 26"
  • Gold spotted snake eel 24"
  • Snowflake eel 13"
  • Engineer gobies 10"
  • Magnificent foxface 7"
  • Pearscale butterfly 3"
  • Regal angelfish 2.5"
  • Zebra angelfish 4"
  • Red coris wrasse 3"
  • Melanarus wrasse 4"
