Well the tank actually got set up almost two months ago. I have been busy so I slacked on keeping my R2R thread up to date. Sorry to everyone on here. But here are a bunch of pics to try to make up for it.

Here are pics from when I was in the final stages of set up:

Dry Marco rock I used to supplement the established rock from the 55gallon.

Here are a couple pics of the new Tomini Tang. Both tangs have been all over the place kicking up sand so that coupled with this guy being a little shy didn't make for very good pics.

I also got a picture of my Red Planet frag that you can actually see the frag! lol

I really like the SWC it is a great skimmer.

I did spray paint the back of the tank. I just used Krylon brand flat black paint. One that I did do wrong when I did it was that I did a good thick coat of it let it dry and then went back over some thin spots. Well that soaked into the dry paint and started making the paint kinkle up. Luckily this only happened in a few small spots so it wasn't a big deal. But if I ever paint another tank I will just do a good thick application from the start rather than relying on a second coat after it drys.

Nice start! Upgrades are fun. Nice to see that you are taking your time and everything should be smooth sailing. I was going to mention that until you get that canopy built, you might try building a do it yourself screen to prevent carpet surfing. Doesn't look like your current stock list has any notorious jumpers, but better safe than sorry!

I actually recently decided that life will be much easier without a canopy over the tank (regulating temp, less energy without the added fans, cost of the canopy its self, etc). So, I am going to make DIY covers using 1/4" clear bird netting and black metal window screen frame. Basically I will cut the frame to size and just use the regular window screen spline and put them together as if i was making a new screen for my windows. So there will be 3 of these covers when I am done.

Took some pics tonight. As usual they are with my old 3.5 mega pixel camera so not the best but good enough.

Now, I also tried doing top down pics for the very first time. These are all just first attempts with my same old camera and no top down box.

Thank you very much. I just found my fourth tang.. A sail fin..

I just upgraded and was looking for four tangs I wanted to add them all together at once so there won't be any fighting for territories.

Thanks, the nice thing about that camera is that is has a really good optical zoom. Heck if it had manual focus i'd be a happy camper.

So hows that DIY cover/screen thing working out for you?? The clear screen seems like a good choice to use and might be less noticable than black.

I haven't built it yet. I just decided on it last weekend so I still need to order the roll of netting when I get paid. I will probably build them in the middle of May after my school finals are done.
