Our water here is great for reefs with low nitrate and reasonably low phosphate readings with moderately high hardness/alkalinity/calcium. Unfortunately the silicates are also a bit high and it grows algae very well. I use nothing but tap water in my softie tank and it has very healthy corals but also very lush algae.
