There are some probe type meters on the market but they are very expensive, and from what I have heard the probes are easily knocked out of calibration. I have a Pinpoint nitrate probe and I have to calibrate it every time I use it which takes a lot of time.

Thanks skinz78, gonna stick with the Salifert colorimetric kits. Seems to be the fav among us so will go with it and see. The "eyesight" is the problem at this point............ain't sayin m'age but they jus don't see as good as they used ta' ya kno! LOLOL

LOL I hear ya, I had to beg the missus to go and buy me a desk lamp the other night so I could see mine when I tested... Problem is it is too bright now....

yep, been there too,skinz. have taken to running the test then moving to the patio doors to read them....seems to help with the color interpretation...somewhat!

Some of the Salifert test kits actually tell you to try to compare by using sunlight. I guess our ceiling lights give off a different par, making it harder to read the color.

Heck, I'm only 29, and have perfect vision, and its hard for me to compare as well.
