So, March 1st I moved my 20 gallon tank 90 miles to my new home. Two months later.. I went back to visit my parents this weekend, and they brought out this ziplock bag with an acan inside that I had forgotten!! The water was surprisingly still clear and didn't smell bad at all, and the acan heads weren't white. I just got home a while ago, I temp acclimated it in the same bag for 20 minutes and placed under a "cliff" so it doesn't get any direct light.
Is it still alive?? Or is it dead, but could I leave it in the tank to see if polyps start regrowing on it like with fungias and torches. The last pic is of the water it was in.

If it’s dead it could release toxins into your system and take out the entire tank. I would put it in a fish bowl near the main tank with main tank water and watch. If it is alive it should be fine to see what it does.

I would never put that thing into my tank till I was sure it was safe to do so.

Sorr y'all, I was busy with dinner lol ;Drool. This is so crazy that it's still alive after two months of just sitting on a shelf!! Should I leave it as is or put it in another container?

My tanks are a bit bigger at 70 and up but my experience with them is that when I had them die it didn’t affect the tank. You might go to the sps forum and ask there to be sure. It appears to still have skin/ flesh and color so if it’s me, it’s staying put to try to get it to recover.
