Hey Everyone, looking for some help as i am fairly new to the mangrove life. I have mine in the sump in a couple inch's of old Fiji pink sand, it has been fairly well of late growing pretty tall but I fear it may be getting fairly close to the light. Has anyone ever used Bonsai wire to help shape their mangroves? any advice on this?

I've used zip ties to train.

The mangrove lagoon is finally up and running. Got the tank drilled and plumbed into the main tanks sump.
For those of you using root tabs, how often do you add new ones?

The first three images show my white mangrove. Laguncularia racemosa I’ve had it for a bit over 8 months it started as just two leaves on a stick. Right now it’s growing in a mix of sand and a pond potting specific mix. It’s really been doing well, I haven’t come across too many people growing them in aquariums I know they don’t have as high of a salt tolerance but was hoping to add it to a brackish bog

The leggy plant one in the last photo is my black mangrove. Avicennia germinans It’s been growing well definitely not as happy. It’s growing in a similar potting mix with less sand. Both are in only freshwater for now. Would love some input on the black mangrove is anyone’s got some experience.
They both are growing outside right now but move inside over the winter
