My favorite wrasse Red Sea Eightline Flasher, P. octotaenia. Just start changing and he is already my favorite wrasse in my tank. Bold fish without been aggressive.

Hi! Ok so I had my LFS order in a yellow tail tamaran. He came in last Wednesday. My LFS told me a few minutes ago that he just started eating Mysis. I am going to have them hold him a few more weeks because I am going on vacation, and I don't buy new fish before I go on vacation.

I have 7 leooards and a China Wrasse.....how are these guys compared to leopards....I know the China Wrasse is in the same group as the yellow tail....? If anyone owns one I would love to hear from you! Thanks in advance! [emoji16]

Great that they will hold him for you! I have one and mine was eating LRS and PE mysis right from the start. He is a great fish and gets along with everyone in the tank. I have another anampses wrasse ( twistii) as well , who sometimes chases the yellowtail, but other than that, no issues. Very active swimmer too. He’s in my 125 and covers every inch. Good luck with yours! Post a pic when you get a chance!

Any and all of those flashers would work.

Agree; you can pick any combination of any two flashers and be fine, if flasher have such appeal to you.

Thank you. I like quite a few of the different wrasses but limited on space & the wife will not approve another tank so not sure what I'll do if I win the Partner tank. LOL

Hello all!

Starting on a new 45 gallon tank. And I´m working on my stocking plan for this tank.

At the moment my stocking plan looks like this:

2 x Ocellaris Clownfish(mated pair)
1 x Midas Blenny
1 x Bicolor Blenny
1 x Orchid Dottyback
1 x Wrasse(Yellow Wrasse?)

My question is if my tank is big enough for a Yellow wrasse? Or is there any other wrasse you would recommend instead?

What are the dimensions of said tank? It's certainly a bit smaller in volume then I'd like to see for a yellow wrasse.

Tank dimensions is 90 x 45 x 45 cm. (About 18 x 18 x 35 inches). Here is a picture of the tank and aquascape:

It would work, but understand that it is not ideal.

Is there a wrasse that would be ideal, or is the tank simply to small to house a wrasse.
A Paracheilinus (flasher) wrasse would work. So would a Cirrhilabrus wrasse of the lubbocki or lunatus complex.

My diamondtail flasher wrasse (P. Attenuate) body darkened after a couple weeks in the DT. Has anyone observed the same color shift with the diamondtail flasher wrasse?

Yeah pretty common. Mine darkens up toward the evening and lights out.

It's to be expected, unless you're keeping them in a very dimly lit tank. It's an artifact of bright lights; not a UV thing (as some claim it is).

Thanks! Glad mine was not an isolated case, and not related to UV.
