The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Hello,
I have a G2+ XL 300 reefer. I just introduced a carpenter wrasse. I'd like to introduce two more dwarf wrasse. I think a lubbock wrasse shouldn't be a problem. What do you recommend for the third one so that there's a "good relationship" in my tank and who does not sleep in the sand?
Will I need to use an acclimation box?
Thank you.

bathyphilus, nahackyi, mayby isosceles though they can be a bit darty in a smaller tank. I would aldo watch those green mushrooms. I regret adfing them to my tank.

The three wrasse have similar colors to the Carpenter. I fear fights.
I’ve had bathy and pintail together with no issues. Is there a reason you are avoiding the halichoeres and macro genuses as there are many contrasting colors to the orange. Is your tank bare bottom?

My new 150g 5 foot CADE is almost up and running and I am super keen to make this a wrasse dominant tank. I love wrasse!

Current fish that will go in are a trio of oce clowns and a small marine betta.

Wrasse I love on the shortlist:
Flasher wrasse (love these!!)
Banana/yellow wrasse
Exquisite wrasse
Laboutei wrasse
Lineautus fairy
Red Coris wrasse
Leopard wrasse

Would like to see others suggestions and thoughts on a tank this size.

im new in this thread. Do you qt your wrasses?
I personally don’t - I have yet to find a QT protocol that I can do which won’t throw the species I keep under too much harm. I’ve yet to trial HTTM, however I’ve found the species I keep or aim to keep (Anampses, Pseudojuloides, Macropharyngodon to name a few) can be harmed in harsher QT methods which involve chemicals. It’s why I’m aiming to try HTTM on the next batch of wrasses I bring into the LFS.

Also, another reason I just don’t find much need in it - wrasses are mainly susceptible to Uronema and Flukes and pretty much nothing else. My systems are almost entirely centred around wrasses so I don’t really have many issues at all with other diseases like ich or velvet as I don’t keep tangs which are much more susceptible to them.

The Kuiter’s finally came out, and this fish is gorgeous! Has it already transitioned to male? It doesn’t look female to me. Maybe it’s in the midst of the transition?

That’s a late transitional phase Kuiter’s by the looks of it, not quite entirely male colours but pretty much there!

You need to stop with the vivien shots before I actually start considering the large 4 inch male I can get 🤣

If I’m honest, a Cirrhilabrus species is unlikely to fight with a Paracheilinus species - you’ll get displaying but no fully locked jaws and proper battles. I’ve got a Rubricaudalis pair (very similar to the carpenters) in a 5 foot with 3 other similar looking Cirrhilabrus species and I’ve not had an issue for the last year and a bit of having do many wrasses in my tank :)

Okay… guys, something happened… I have a wrasse being held for me. It is my favourite species, but a female!!
