Equipment list for the new tank:
Waterbox Frag 145.5
2x Reef Factory Reef Flare Pro L
6x AI Nero 5
4x Reef Factory dosers (2x dosing Reef Zlements and not sure on the other two yet)
Reef Factory Thermo Control and 350w D-D Titanium Heater
Reef Factory ATO and Eheim Pump
Jebao DCP-8000 return
Reef Octo Regal 150S Skimmer

The plan for this tank is to run it super simple so thinking of setting up a refugium in the sump too.

Rockwork is made of the new Arka MyReef Rock plates. 20kg for £85 delivered from Germany is a steal!

Sand is 80lb of Caribsea Ocean Direct Natural Live Sand.

My ideas for coral stock change every day at the minute. Currently I’m thinking of a really mixed reef with a lot of soft coral. Would also love a bunch of different types of Pocillopora, Stylophora, Sarcophyton and Blastomussa. I’ve been collecting some of these already and on the hunt for more! I’ve kept Acropora for years and really fancy something a little different.

I’d also love to add some seagrass in between the rockwork to give it more of a lagoon feel.

I’d love to have a venomous tank with some more reef known fish but it’s always scared me of if they’ll eat “eachother” (More the predatory guys eating the others). Have you gotten your current fish with the venomous group currently? If so I’d love to know how they get along :)

Beautiful tank! Any plans for a foxface? I’m sure one would look great with the rest of the venomous guys.

They’re all together at the minute. You just have to be incredibly careful with size and shape. I made that mistake early on with some flasher wrasse I didn’t expect could be eaten. I have no idea how the six line wrasse is still alive but I expect its boldness helps.

I’ll probably drop the wrasse and tangs for the new tank. The larger wrasse especially are quite boisterous at feeding time and will steal food from the mouthes of some of my scorpions. The scopas tang will occasionally pick algae from the skin of the sea goblins and when I eventually move the Ambon Scorpionfish to the main tank I’m sure it will have a nibble at them. A foxface is out of the question for that very reason sadly.

That’s a shame. Interesting to hear foxfaces can be boisterous at feeding, my magnificent doesn’t really eat as much as people assume they do. Even my Flashing tilefish ate more than the tank combined I’m pretty sure. Hopefully it all goes together well though!
Got any photos of the Ambon’s face? I said it once, I’ll say it again those faces are so adorable.

It’s less being boisterous and more picking on some of the scorpions skin. The leaf scorpions and sea goblins tend to get a bit of algae growth before the shed their outer skin layer and grazers can’t resist it. The Ambon scorpions look like algae so they’ll definitely be nipped.

The ambons are in the sump so it’s tough to get a side-on photo unfortunately. They will move into the main tank as soon as I get them off live food which is proving tricky so far!

I am impressed that any water movement can make it through such a dense collection of SPS. Really neat looking tank

This little terror is finally starting to take frozen food from a feeding stick.

This is by far my favourite scorp, I wish I could dedicate a whole tank to one. They’re beautiful but oh my god the faces!
