I am setting up to maintain my tank with a fish room on the other side of a wall. Right now I am running a 75 I just moved here and so far I have got my RO/DI filter running and making water into 2 Brute trashcans in the fish room where I have installed a sink. I have a third one to mix in.
I am using a utility pump with a hose attached to move water. Before we moved I could role a Brute between the tank and the kitchen sink. That wont work here.

Time for something better.
The tank is just beyond the wall on the right in this pic.
LOL
There is a cat door in that wall and I have been using that to push water from this room to the tank. That allowed me to get the tank set up.

So far I have run a tube to fill my ATO with water off of the filter. It is time for my next water change coming up.

Now I need to get saltwater between the Brutes, the sink and the tank for water changes.
The sink is low enough that I can siphon water to it from the tank once i get it started.

I am thinking a 1 inch PVC pipe extending from the sink across the wall and into the other room attached to the wall above the cans.
From the end of the pipe I would cobble up a hook on some vinyl tubing with a valve to hang on the tank. There will eventually be more tanks here and I thought this would be adaptable. Just hang the end on the tank you want to work on.
I would put a tee in the pipe and drop a leg into the mixing can with a pump on it. If I use 3 valves I could them direct water from the can to the tank. Use the water in the can to prime the siphon and direct water from the tank to the sink.

But I am sure this is something that has already been done many times by people smarter than me so how would you do it?

Thanks

Ned

Just to give you some ideas, here's my setup to make RODI, make saltwater mix. I use a hose from the mix tank to push saltwater to the DT. And I can also fill 5 gallon buckets for smaller jobs like water changes in QTs.

Bit hard to start. Now it's charged with water. We will see how it goes next time.
I think I need to move one valve.
I ordered the uniseals to make a water mixing station of more conventional design but that will be a project for a month or 2 from now.

I have used it several times now. I didn't have to change anything. Just slightly adjust my operating procedure.

No more buckets and hoses being dragged about.
