Well like the title says I have taken the dive into SPS. Since everything has been stable and I feel confident enough to keep SPS I decided to buy a Birdsnest while I was buying two Clownfish at Neptune Aquatics in San Jose. I forget the exact name but I sent a email to find out the name. It seems to like the tank so far, lets hope that stays that way.

Some info on the tank. Its a 40 gallon tank with a 20 gallon sump. It has Frogspawn, Candy Cane, Acan Lord, Xenia, GPS mushrooms. It has 4 Nemurus Chromis that have been in there since March and two Clownfish that I bought with the Birdsnest. Water parameters is 1.026, Ca430, Mag1425, Alk9, No3 0, Po4 0, PH8, 79F. I run 2 AI Vegas (Blues at 78%, White 14%, Green 15%, Red 5%. The sump has live rock and chaeto. I feed the fish 1 frozen cube in the morning and 1 at night. Feed the corals every other night.

June 21st just 2 hours after putting into tank.

Looks good!

I took the dive a few months back. One did awful (strawberry shortcake) and three others are fantastic (Christmas mirabalis, yellow tips, and pc rainbow.) I think it was all dependent on placement for me.

Birdsnests are def the most beginner friendly and they grow fast.

This worries me because that's my first Acropora I got just recently

I hope you have better luck. I didn’t really acclimate mine to lighting so that could have been the issue. My tank is super stable and has been up for 5+ years.

How long should I wait to move it up? Like I said in the post I’m using two AI Vegas that are 11” from the water and 30” from the bottom of the tank. The blues are at 78, white 14, green 15 and red 5. Don’t know the Par. Before the birdsnest I tried the tank at blues 90, whites 18, green 15, red 5. But the Acans didn’t like it even at the bottom of the tank. It seems like the Acans like it around 78 blues whites 14.
