Trying to identify a tube worm?

Ok we've got three of these in our tank, very short maybe 1/8" long. I know it's not a feather duster, it looks sort of like this http://scuba.huskychemist.org/pacif...ThreeSectionTubeWorm-LT-ThreeTree-5-26-06.jpg

but it's just a single clear worm looking thing coming out, it comes out about 3/4 to an inch, and the end of it sways with the current along the rock. The hard tube around it is white, and looks like little pieces of sand etc.. stuck on it.

Vermited snail it sounds like... They spit a web To catch food...

think those might be spaghetti worms- a coral irritant IMO/E and worth removing.

iv got spaghetti worms in my tank and they look nothing like that not sure what that is never seen that one before. did it come on a live rock or just grow? but i have heard of people buying spaghetti worms for fuge.

Can you take a picture of the worms in your tank? Probably just a harmless worm of some kind.

Ya it appears to be the vermited snails, I fed the other night and saw the mucas come out and reel in some food.

From that picture, it doesn't look like a vermitid snail. But yours could be different in your tank. Check out some of these sites, they should help. They did me, Reefs.org: Where Reefkeeping Begins on the Internet - Welcome! and Xtalreef . Its probably a SPIONID worm would be my guess.

Another thing I heard is that someone said that if you get too many vermitid snails that they can crash your tank. Their mucus almost attacks the corals, but thats from what I heard. Mine don't seem to bother my corals but they are multiplying extremely fast, so I may have to get a fish to kill them off.

Spionid worm would have been my guess too, except that he siad that it only had a single palp. However, I don't think it is a vermitid snail either as their tube is dark brown, not white...
