What a relief!

I have been struggling with my osmolator pump for a while now. The pump couldn’t lift the top off water 3 feet. I purchased a new pump and when it didn’t solve the problem I had to step back and reevaluate my problem. I found replacement hosing online, but it was over priced.

What I eventually did was repeatedly pour scalding hot water through the original tubing. I plugged in the ATO and the water flowed freely into the tank.

Problem solved.

Did the tubing have a kink in it or something?

No kink, but I read that kalk can build up in the tubing. I rarely use kalk, but that tubing is probably at least 12 years old. It’s a metric size and more rigid than standard airline hose. One thread said that you can use RO tubing, as it’s a challenge to find tubing that will fit the Tunze osmolator pump.

After I bought a new pump, which I didn’t really need being my problem was build up in the black tubing, I then had a problem with the float. I learned that the magnets have to be aligned near perfect. You can see when the float is not flat, but tilted from the magnet. I had two identical Tunze ATO magnets for the outside of the tank and when I swapped out the magnet it solved my float problem. No need to replace the float. It feels good when you succeed problem solving equipment and don’t need to spend money replacing it, at least for now.
