Any change in your livestock plans or still looking to go wrasse heavy? A pair of longnose hawks would be a blast to watch in that tank with your scape.

Still wrasse heavy. My sapphire damsel who hated wrasse in the 35, seems to be chilled out in here. The brunneus and it flash at each other every now and then, but no physical contact.

Check this out... you can see how far this thing expands during the day. Yes, I'm in the middle of the diatom bloom. Another week or two and they should be gone.

ATO consumption 7/12-7/16, four gallons.

Hmmm. One gallon a day. Seems normal for a mid sized tank. Will probably increase in winter with the drop in humidity and my gas heat drys the house out even more. I'm certain I'll be going with the ten gallon Trigger ATO.

Side track for a minute to my simple fresh water planted... I think I may be losing my julie cory cat. He's been with me thru two moves, several different tanks. He's probably around 8 years old. By far the oldest pet fish I have. I saw him on his side just now and thought he was gone. Grabbed the net and he started breathing really fast and twitched a few times but couldn't swim away. My emerald corys are only about 3 years old and appear healthy as ever.

You used the negative of diatoms to create an incredible photograph. Great eye!

Just did some research and the average lifespan is 5 years, so it could be at the end of the road, sorry. It's tough losing fish
