No effect on anyone else, and about 30 minutes after the large water change Aku ate a piece of shrimp that thawed out of the LRS chunky. I offered a second piece, but he showed no interest.
I was speaking to a guy who has a thing for eels, I believe he has 4 now. He has a Japanese dragon eel as well. He said the dragon went for 62 days one time refusing to eat. When he finally did he ate a ton. That would freak me out, I would go into panick mode.

Oh, and the basslet isn't shy anymore. At all. He's totally cool with the very big and very strangely shaped fish that sticks the now blue box(new S10+ prism blue) to the tank entirely too much.

Close call at feeding time for the fish. Well, not exactly a close call, but Aku let me know he was hungry by trying to eat Blaze. Of course, Blaze is way too fast to be easily caught. Most healthy fish are. Eels prefer easy prey rather than having to chase their food. Aku ate enough to make 2 to 3 Ember or Blaze sized fish. I guess going 14 days and only eating a small piece of shrimp will make you pretty hungry. This is the end of him eating, afterwards he went in the rock to take a nap I guess.

Aku might have to make the journey over to the Fairy Tale. Second time he tried to chomp Blaze at feeding time. In one week. He ate two large pieces Sunday, two again on Monday and Tuesday, stayed in the rocks at feeding time Wednesday and tonight at feeding time tried to eat Blaze. I immediately quick thawed his food in the microwave for 3 seconds(still half frozen) and he ate one large piece and played with the second, letting me know he was full.

This eel is way more opportunistic than my previous ones, and large enough to actually make a meal of one of my fish. All of the fish in the Fairy Tale are too big to eat.

Move probably might definitely happen tomorrow...

Will the fact that the fish are too big to eat stop him from striking? Would hate to see him get ahold of anyone in the Fairy Tale and inflict damage.

I doubt it'll stop him, but they are MUCH faster over there, and my clowns would give him the buisness if he tried anything. I seriously doubt he could catch Blaze or a wrasse. Another thing, Blaze hangs out in the deep end. Swims in the open down there, eats food that blows around down there. That's when Aku strikes. Food is in the water, he smells the food, sees Blaze going for the food, then lunges for Blaze.

Blaze is really quick but Ember isn't the best swimmer, being a blenny and all. She only eats algae off the rocks and nori on the clip, so that's why there hasn't been any interaction between them. I'd hate for her, or a future fish, to eat from the water column and not being as agile, end up getting caught.

Then the Moray Menagerie will need to be renamed.

After some time(ordered beginning of February), troubles, confusion, and finally a threat of PayPal dispute....

We have the Nanobox light. Looooong story I won't get into but it should have been handled better. That said I am happy I finally have it and it's on the tank. Set up wasn't too hard, but could be a lot easier. I have it on a preprogrammed LPS+ setting and its synced up to Cozumell day/night cycle for Caribbean species... considering that's 99% of this tank.

I'll try this setting for a little while and see how everything responds. So far, the Ricordea and the RFAs look great under the LED.

I moved the ricordea up to the rocks.

The RFAs move around a good bit. All huddled together, spread apart, upside down under the rock... for now most of them are facing away from the window. I doubt it's the sun because they've been over on that side as well.

Coraline is taking off, RFAs and Ricordea are growing, Blaze and Ember are doing well. Ember is actually eating LRS now as well as nori when add about twice a week. The strawberry crab comes out every now and then and scavenges up and left overs, mostly at night, and the 4 snails(one each of astrea, cerith, nerite and cowrie) keep any algae at bay... not that I've seen one strand since I nuked the bryopsis.

Quickest balance I've gotten in a tank so far. I've been completely hands off since I hooked up the ATO. I still need to get my electronics panel made for the back wall, then get two containers for the AWC. Then I think this tank will really shine.

I credit every other build of mine and knowledge I gained from them, live rock that was in my possession(and wet) for up to a year for the majority of the rock, the Brightwell Xport blocks and starting off with the Microbacter7.

Money cowrie at night with mantle fully extended up the shell(popped the moon light on for a second to take a pic)

How about a little top down action... check out that 5 color RFA in the back. Green, yellow, orange, pink and blue. (Top down is the only way I can get a pic of that one. Must be one of those French girls.)

And, some ricordea close ups...

I love this one. Purple base with green and peachy colored tentacles.

Hard to believe this orange one was the size of a pencil eraser when I got it. It's my largest one, probably 2" across.

Yes, that's two mouths...
