Water storage tote

When talking about an RODI storage container most people refer to the Brute can. Is there any difference between that and one a third the cost at walmart?
I know we are not using acid but the type of container mattered to Jesse! (Breaking Bad reference)

I use cheapos from menards and they seem ok.
Air them out. Acid clean them. Let them sit with ro for a bit to leach anything. Then air out again.
Did that since they smelled when I got them but no issues since.
