I got some coral from a localish person. They were about 150 miles from me. Anyway, I had proper introductions with the other friends I brought home. Duncan, Pandora Zoa, Green Toadstool and some Starfish. I just spotted this brown bubbly individual amongst one Pandora colony. Does anyone know its name. I think it drunkenly got in line for the wrong bus the same way a sailor might and its now wondering why it's in whatever town the drunken sailor woke up in. I'm hoping it's not a pest because they look so happy amongst the Zoa's and I would like to know how to cure its alcoholism.

This photo alone makes an ID a bit of a challenge.

It does look a bit like an anemone. Also could see an argument for a yuma mushroom.

If, the bubbly bits, extend as tentacles, I would say a nem. What color is it under blue lighting? If brown, or green under blues and not a more flourcent I would say it likely is a majano anemone. Those nems, are unfriendly. They are smaller brown to green nems that sting other corals and spore like aiptasia. Treated the same way aiptasia can be treated.

When it gets a little darker and I go to blue lights I will look for that under the blue lights. I hope it's not, but if it is I have apitasia X to treat with.

It you touch it does it instantly shrink up to near nothing?
I don't know. I think it is what stung me last night. I messaged the seller to get his thoughts. He owned a pretty big Aquarium shop. I have apitasia X on standby. I'm ready to nuke it if needed.

Thank everyone, I will keep an eye out for more that might pop up. I had some Joe's Juice that I used on it.
