What is this stuff is?

I just came back from a week long vacation and found this stuff has completely taken over my sump. Any idea what it is and how to get rid of it?

Is it a clear algea or slime? I think I get a little of that sometimes…

A little bit. It honestly looks like cotton when it’s in the water but feels like clear mucus in the water. When I take it out of the water it has a clear mucus surrounding a thick brownish middle
