I work at a lighting distributor. We carry almost every kind of lighting available, except prebuilt aquarium lights. I would like some LED lights, but I wasn't sure if I could get them from my work. How do I know what I need? Is there specs that these need to have? I could get them for next to nothing if we have something available that would work.

Help please :)

There are a number of DIY LED kits available, RapidLED comes to mind, but isn't the only one. If you review their site, and available options, you may be able to determine if your company had similar items.

Unless you can special order, you're not going to find acceptable aquarium lighting in a consumer light store.....unless you like bright white looking tank with brown corals.

Aquarium lights have considerable blue lighting with a blend of whites and a touch of red and green. You don't find that in consumer home lights. However, you can still find very reasonably priced aquarium lights.....like THIS ONE from ebay. I have one of these on my tank now and I'm impressed. Time will tell if it lasts.

I have the exact same LEDs. They work great. If you got a few more bucks to spend you can get ones that hook up to wifi and are programable unless you have an apex.
