What's something everyone else does that you DO NOT DO?

No controller, no apex, no hydros, no automated testing. Feel like the last one on earth.
I have 300g display, basement sump and fishroom.

Likewise

I don’t worry about 0 nutrients on hobby test kits. Seems all the newbies are very concerned with some readable, arbitrary, mythical no3 and po4 number that solves all reef tanks “bellyaches”.
Non newbie that test nitrate and phosphate and doses as applicable.
Non newbie that realizes what is applicable to one system is not a blanket statement of all other hobbyist systems.

Reefing is all about "different strokes for different folks!"

So many ways to have a great reef tank.

Thank People that help me . Some do most don't

I do not run a skimmer. I don’t run carbon. I don’t run GFO. I don’t dose any minerals. I just change ~1.6 gallons of water daily and use live rock/aggregates/filter floss. Process is automated. I touch it ~1x every 2-3 weeks.

I do not have an ATO. My ocd makes me add half gallon r.o. to sump every 2 days for years.
I go by a black marker line on sump. Haha. Yep, I live on the edge.
Never had wild swings. Salinity stays at 1.024. I use a Hanna checker once a week and when I mix up saltwater.
Always. But,to each his own.
So many diff ways to run a tank.

I don’t put livestock right into the tank unless I buy it pre-quarantined. Non-quarantined inverts and coral go through 11 weeks in a separate fishless system first. I only buy qt’d fish. I’m sure some would say it’s crazy and unnecessary but works for me.

Dose phyto.

(Okay, not everyone does but a lot do and I find it a total waste)
I’m starting to think you’re on to something. I’ve dosed it on and off, and not sure the juice is worth the squeeze…

Props to you for not running an ATO. I could not imagine my tank without one

My nano runs with no filtration, not even floss or carbon. I only run these 2 if I disturb something and then just for a few hours. It's very rare.
