Looks fine to me. The colonies that I have go through that every now and then.

Something is probably walking on it...

Look for shrimp or crabs walking on it - they will recede like that to protect themselves.

all of mine started doing that a few weeks ago. One of my hippo tangs started picking on them. My fault for target feeding the acans with the lights on.I think I trained him to pick.they all puffed back up a day after the fish was removed

Mine did that when I changed the flow direction in the tank by bumping a powerhead. I fixed the powerhead and it went back to being puffed out.

well it has been about 2 or 3 weeks now and this acan is still the same if not slightly worse. Anybody else have any ideas what is wrong or what i can do about it? IT DOES NOT HAVE TOO MUCH FLOW

How much flow is it getting? Maybe it should get more. If it was mine, I'd move it to another spot to see if that was the problem and give it an iodine dip incase it's infected with something like brown jelly disease.

Hope it recovers for you!

Looks fine. Once you see the skeletal structure pierce through the tissue start figuring out the cause.

You also stated you stopped feeding it? I would still target feed it. I have had some look like this in the past and started to target feed them and they were fine. I normally don't really target feed but feed the whole tank.
