Hello, I have a 120 gallon tank and once I have everything there and more nutrients I want to get a skimmer but I don’t know which one to go with. If you guys can give me your opinion about them I would appreciate it (reef adaptive looks the best BUT I want one with start delay)

I've had a number of skimmers throughout the years. Years ago had a Bubble King on a 200 and it did a phenomenal job. The Ultrareef Akula and Typhoon Series skimmers are really good. Recently as my bio load has increased my Octo 200 Elite INT seemed to be just falling short of the job. Replaced it with a Deltec 1500i... Would never look back. The Deltec just never stops skimming. They build great filtration equipment. For the money you are looking to spend check out Deltec, the DC series skimmers. Can't go wrong.

What’s the name of the skimmer? And would it be good for like a 120 gal but light feeding and all that? Because I want something nice and with like start delay and controllable settings and durable and easy to understand lol

Don't get caught up in all the hype. Mine has been running for years just set the globe valve and leave it alone. When doing water changes just unplug clean the cup, and body . Fill up your sump again to proper level put in skimmer and plug back in

I have the bashsea 6/24 and love it. bought the waste container as well so I don't have to clean the cup as much. can't comment on other brands since this one was my pic from lots of research. I'd recommend the DC pump though over the sicce 5.0.
liked the design so much I even bought their ATO reservoir to match!

Okay and the DC pump are better? In like the long run? Or just like the silence of the device?

Deltec or Reef Octo, the size will depend on your bioload. There are a couple things that I look for in a skimmer, easy to remove cup, drain for the cup and it's easy to take apart and put together again when cleaning. Ultra Reef skimmers are nice, but it depends on your budget?

I ran the simplicity 240 DC skimmer on my 120 gallon tank. It was a pretty solid unit and great customer service if any need for parts or questions. I continued to run it in my 150 gallon stock tank while I was doing my tank upgrade and continued to pull some nice icky skim mate. I have had the skimmer since they started. I replaced the pump once just to to prevent of maintenance as it was running for over seven years. Now I’ll keep it as a back up skimmer from my 170 gallon.

My answer is going to be biased...but if your looking for a high quality skimmer that is going to last ages...REEF OCTOPUS.

We have the Classic Series. Which is AC. Simply plug it in and tune it with gate valve. Simple.

Then we have the Regal and Elite Series which have a VarioS DC pump in them. These skimmers offer more control and tunability..along with saftey features like auto shut off if the cup fills up. DC pumps usually operate with less power consumption and are quieter.

Reef Octopus is arguably the #1 skimmer company, however, another biased answer from me would be IceCap. These skimmers are also available in AC and DC and are a value brand comparably.

Make sure to expand your shopping to other sites that carry a multitude of brands as well!

I wanted something like kinda on the cheaper side and also good. So I kinda did just look through all the sites and simplicity was like a option

Two ways get a Honda generator/ Inverter. Or a power station. In that case a portable power station and the DC skimmer. Either way would probably work out to the same money
Which power station you say is good for money and like quality?
