I'm looking for advice on how many and of which type to get for 96x40x24 mixed reef tank.

I was thinking about using four mp-40's, 2 on each end, spaced about 12" from front pane and another 12" from back pane with depths set at:
MP40LeftFront depth=8"
MP40LeftRear depth=16"
MP40RigtFront depth=16"
MP40RightRear depth=8"
opposite pumps on each corner sync'd

Or

2 MP-60's set opposed to each other centered at 20" from front pane and 12" depth work?

I cant place any along the rear of the tank, it is against the wall.

When I spoke w/Ecotech they suggested
"I would get between two and four MP60's or two MP60's and two MP40's. One MP60 and one MP40 on each side pane and set them up so that the pumps on opposite corners are sync'd using long pulse mode. You can generate a really nice gyre this way. "

Just wanting some additional input from those with them on large tanks before i make my purchase decision.

Thanks

Careful with those MP60's, people have reported that the pumps are so powerful that they will suck in fish if they are close.

wow...that will cost youi a fortune....lol.

Yeah nearly as much as the tank...

Yeah I have heard that to. My MP10 actually sushi'd a royal gramma (I had it on a controller that completely shut it down during feed cycle, the gramma decided to check out the inside of the pump while it was off and well I think you get the picture)

I don't think they will be running anywhere near max and I'm planning on larger fish so here's to crossed fingers...
