Caught off Cape Cod before Wicked Tuna was a thing. 4 of us on board, we got about 25 lbs of meat each.

I’ve got big heart space for Georgia (grew up in Atlanta), Florida (tons of family - home away from home) and Michigan (Bay City/ Essexville) so it’s especially fun seeing folks from those areas. I’m In Austin, TX and I want to get out so bad. Back to Atlanta or Florida. Here I am recently and back in the day when I sang in various bands in ATL

You got that right. Bass fishing in this lake was hit or miss. But for perch, crappie and sunfish, it was consistently good. My parents were pretty poor. Dad was a teacher and Mom a house wife. He only told me last year that those fish we ate were our main source of meat cause they couldn't afford much else. There was also catfish in this lake. Now THAT was more miss than hit.

That stock pond I was fishing had some decent catfish at one time if you could get them to bite. My cousin borrowed one of my rods and threw a rooster tail in and slow reeled it in, dragging the bottom, and caught a 15 pound flathead out of 10' deep water...

Ha! Funny! That’s a cute photo. The one on the bottom really resembles a little cat who was my soulmate - Nina. Nina had those serious eyes.

Oh, BEAGLE!!!! I LOVE beagles. Ever since I was a kid and loved Snoopy - and that was getting to be longer and longer all the time. I’m on Beagle number five - Ginger is my icon, and I put her there the same night this thread was started. Love your dog, and pity you and your neighbors!
