I want to get Reef Frenzy for my "babies" but nobody around here seems to sell it yet >_<
Culturing my own worms is unfortunately out of the question for the moment.

Paul, I almost pee'd my pants reading your article (post) tonight.
Collect chop feed. My tank as well as myself. Do you see any reason not to feed the tank stuff I collect.
Nice write up and great to see LRS jumping in.

Paul I have been following you for a few years.
I don't have friends out here with aquariums, but I COULD ask my favorite LFS employees if they want to try it with me...hmmmIf you want to be extra safe you can freeze any fresh collected clams and other live foods. Many public aquariums have protocols to freeze inbound shipments of foods for a period of 5-30 days to kill off any parasites. Freezing the clams lets you open them easier anyway so it kills to birds with one stone.
Glad to help!
Eienna, Fed Ex shipping, dry ice and the cooler fee is only $14 if you live in 2/3 of the USA from Colorado/Texas east. Since you live in CA it is a little more for Fed Ex Express but if you find a couple friends to order with you we offer discounts based on volume to erase the shipping costs. Thanks!
Where do you get those at?one thing I dont see mention often that I really like feeding is crab eggs....like the little orange ones they put on sushi.

I've fed fish eggs, but never crab eggs.
You never, ever hear this anywhere, but here it is: VIRUSES!! Not just parasites and bacterial infections.
This is quite old. But good read @Paul B . I was feeding crap foods at first. Been using @ReefFrenzy for over a year now.... prior i had a case of marine velvet...i tried a radical treatment...and began lrs. I have a feeling my treatment may have worked but lrs has helped the fish fighting through it survive in my opinion. My clowns been with me 5 years now and i believe i can thank LRS for it. Working sometimes 80 hours a week i never have time for some of the diy worms and other stuff, but thanks to their food i am able to not work so hard.
And a side note on price. I talked a fee friends into switching from the cubes to lrs and when you compare the price per weight of food to theirs its similar....if not cheaper than the crap food.
You were actually my inspiration to find a better food solution paul. @ReefFrenzy might owe you a kick back hahaha! We agree to care for these fish by purchasing, so buying the quality food is our job.
I read this so today I went to my LFS and they just started getting LRS foods so I got the fish frenzy.
I was a little disappointed that there were quite a few larger chunks of food that most of my fish couldn't eat (my large sailfin tang was happy about that).
I wish they made a food with not so big of chunks so all the fish could eat it besides my piggy sailfin and yeah more black worms would be nice. I have some larger fish in my 180 but they can eat smaller chunks vs the smaller fish can't eat the bigger ones.
They did have a reef frenzy nano that I would have tried but the reef foods don't have black worms.
My oldest fish I kept was a yellow tang for 19 years fed mostly flakes until his later years when I started feeding some frozen, nori, and flakes.
I always love your posts Paul B.
